Obituary

Life's Journey

“To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the Heaven.”  Ecclesiastes 3.1

On February 27, 1945 Roy Allen Washington (Nana) was born to Delfa Mae Washington.  He attended Edward Elementary and Edwards High School.

Roy Allen was converted at an early age at Union Lee Baptist Church.  Later on in life he joined Forest Street Church of God and Christ and later moving membership to Gonzales Memorial Church of God and Christ.  Roy Allen loved serving the Lord.  He hated when he had to miss going to church because of his health. He would always say I’m the best tap dancer in church.

Roy Allen had a passion for working.  He retired from Holly farms and later became self-employed with doing yard work in the community until his health started to fail him.  His hobby was picking up cans and taking them to the recycle center.  Sometimes he would walk as far as Luling Texas to pick up can.   He would speak to everyone regarding if they wouldn’t speak.  He would say it doesn’t hurt to speak, even if they doesn’t speak. He loved to take in Stray dogs and cats.  He would have their food ready for them to eat when they came around.

Roy Allen was preceded in death by his parent Delfa Mae Washington, Grandparents, Bessie Williams Washington and Elijah Washington, Uncles Robert Washington, Elijah Washington Jr, Farris Washington Sr, James Washington, C L Washington and Aunties, Josephine Washington, Darlee Washington Henderson.

Roy Allen leaves to cherish his memory, a host of cousin, relatives, friend and good neighbors.  Roy Allen was loved by everyone.
