REBECCA MARTINEZ Obituary

Reflection of Life

Sister Rebecca Gonzales Martinez

Sister Rebecca Gonzales Martinez was born May 30, 1966, in Karnes City to Dora Lerma and Raul Gonzales.  She was raised by Elisa Lopez.

Rebecca was known for her loving heart and warm hospitality, and she made everyone feel welcome.

Rebecca‘s home was a safe place where many people came and stayed until they were able to get on their feet.  Her greatest joy was time spent with her children and grandchildren that was her world.

Rebeca accepted the Lord as her personal savior and had a personal relationship with the Lord.

She served with Pastor Emuil Greathouse, Pastor Billy Washington Sr, and was a supportive member of Miracle and Deliverance Temple COGIC, under the Leadership of Superintendent Jernard Conaway, Sr..

Every Sunday, Sister Rebecca and her girls would prepare Sunday dinner for the entire church.

Sister Rebecca worked as a housekeeper, cleaning homes and commercial buildings with love.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dora Lerma, Father Raul Gonzales, Husband Manuel Martinez, Sisters Margaret Fitzhugh, Rene Conzales, Lori Holcome, Rachel Gonzales, and brother Johnny Holcombe.

She leaves to cherish her memory, seven children, Jeon Martinez, Amy Martinez, Deserine Vega (Corey), Gilbert Garcia, Kassandra Gonzales, Jose Conreras (Christine), and Ana Contreras. 20 Grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, one sister, Tammy Fitzhugh, and two brothers, Teddy Sattlewhite and Raul Gonzales, and a host of Nieces, nephews, and friends.

The love that Rebecca displayed will never be forgotten.  Rest in love until we meet again.
