25. Strength and honor are her clothing; and shed shall rejoice in time to come. 26. She opened her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

27. She looked well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

28. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praised her.

 

Mirlleen Taylor was born to the late Mack Elroy and Robbie Jewel Clack on March 24, 1929.

She accepted Christ at an early age at St. James Baptist Church.  She was a dedicated and praying servant of the Lord.  Mirlleen ushered for over 50 years as well as cooked many dinners for the church programs.  She was a faithful member until her health failed.

Mirlleen attended Edwards High School until the 10th grade.  She later married Rayfield Taylor, Sr. on February 26, 1950. And to this union Mirlleen had eleven children: five boys and six girls.

She worked for the Gonzales School District as a cook in the cafeteria for many years until her health failed.  She was a great cook, and her children looked forward to her cooking.

Mirlleen is preceded in death by her husband; Rayfield Taylor, Sr., 3 sons; Verdell Bouldin (Mayulle), Floyd Ray Taylor (Shirley), and Walter Taylor (Alice). One daughter; Arlene Taylor Jones. Six siblings; Mellow Nee Hicks, Walter Ray Clack (Little Bubba), Marion Clack (Sam) Elroy Cook (Tutta), Nettie Mirl Strait, and Marvin Clack, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories; two sons; Virgil Bouldin (Silk), and Rayfield Taylor, Jr. Five daughters; Linda Robinson (Robert), Diana Ashby (David), Cynthia Stevens, Gilda Hunt, and Dorothy Wells (Eric). One sister; Robbie Mae Herndon, and one brother; Martin Ray Clack (Jereline). Thirty-one grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
