Ms. Mildred Dean Sparks, born on February 8, 1965, in San Antonio Tx, was received to her eternal home on December 18, 2025, at St. Davis South Hospital in Austin Tx.
Mildred was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember her for the profound impact she had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Mildred was predeceased by her father, SSgt. Melvin Royce Sparks of San Antonio Tx who served in the US Army for 20 years. She is survived by her lovely mother, Evangelist Ernestine Sparks of Gonzales, TX, (Son) Dominic Nathaniel Sparks, (Sister) Lesley Sparks, (Brothers) Melvin Royce Sparks Jr. of Gonzales Tx, Peter Grey Sparks/ Tangy Sparks of Katy Tx, (Grandchildren) Harmony Sparks, Sariah Sparks, Carter Sparks along with a host of nephews and nieces.
After graduating from Douglas Byrd High School in Fayetteville, N.C., where she played basketball and ran track, she attended Knoxville College in Knoxville Tn, and Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville Al. Mildred later pursued a career as a CNA and worked in various nursing homes; people were drawn to her infectious smile, overwhelming laughter, and willingness to help everyone that she encountered.
Mildred was later challenged in her eyesight and became blind but that did not stop her from pursuing life in a positive way she pursued a career working for the Lighthouse for the blind in San Antonio Tx.
Sister Mildred was an born again faithful servant of Jesus Christ, she sang in the choir, definitely a prayer warrior at Miracle Deliverance Temple Church Of God In Christ, Gonzales, Tx. Under the leadership of Supt Jenard Conaway/ Pastor Kenneth Robinson.
