Henry T. (Junior) Sentmore Jr. was born August 9, 1933 to Henry T. Sentmore Sr. and Beatrice Sentmore in New Orleans, LA. Henry went home to be with the Lord on Friday January 15, 2021. He was 87 years old.
Henry enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951, and faithfully served his country in numerous places including Japan, Korea and Vietnam. His time in service culminated with a tour in Aviano Italy totaling 26 years of dedication.
Following his retirement in 1976, he lived in San Antonio, TX where he continued serving his community with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department for 20 years.
Henry was a parishioner at St. Helena Catholic Church in San Antonio where he regularly volunteered to help feed the hungry. He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus.
Henry loved his wife with an undying devotion. He loved his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, spending time with family and serving the community with his church. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Henry was preceded in death by parents, Henry Sr., and Beatrice Sentmore, five sisters; Shirley Johnson, Beathemae Davis, Aurelia Magee, Mary Keelen, and Florence Francis. Two brothers; Leon Sentmore and Vincent Prevost and granddaughter, Bernadett Quiroz.
Henry is survived by his wife, Gloria Sentmore of sixty-six beautiful years, four daughters; Gloriadean and husband Roy Leggett, their children; Keith and spouse Apryl, Kevin and spouse Priscilla, grandchildren, Kya, Keith and Keilani. Yvette and husband Robert Hamilton, and their children; Theresa, Robert, Veronica, Gregory Derrick and Abigail, grandchildren, Robert, London, Niyah and Brooklyn. Yvonne and husband Bruce Bulluck, their children; Lemar and Micaiah. Darlene and husband Kevin Tate and child Katarina. Three sons; Henry III and wife Iris Sentmore, children, Samuel, Sarah and Deborah. Harold and wife Angie Sentmore, children Andrea and Vincent; grandchildren Amaya and Kaylie. Gregory and children Damien and Ebony. Henry is survived by four brothers, Walter Sentmore Sr., Leo Sentmore, Melvin Sentmore Sr., Darryl Sentmore and one sister, Regina Craft. And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
