I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing

II Timothy 4:7-8

 

David Deat Steemer was born on November 3, 1956 in Gonzales, Texas to Elijah Steemer and Erma Lee Stovall. He passed away on October 27, 2020 at the Ascension Seton Edgar B. Davis Hospital in Luling, Texas.  He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of The Greater Webster Chapel AME Church.

 

David attended school in Gonzales, Texas. He then decided to serve his country by joining the United States Marines. Upon being honorably discharged from the Marines, he worked for Holly Farms for many years. David later became an employee with the Luling Care Center as the supervisor for the maintenance department. He will be truly missed.

David was a family oriented man and loved his family. He was a great dancer, loved to dance, and performed like James Brown. He also played the guitar.

He was preceded in death by his by his parents, three brothers, William Steemer, Elijah Steemer, Jr. and Charles Steemer. Two sisters, Erma Jean Bolden and Vera Steemer.

He leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Margie Steemer, two children, Diamond and Cory Steemer.

Three grandchildren, Alana, CJ and Kobe Steemer. Four sisters, Jessie Monroe. Evelyn Steemer, Wynetta Lanehart, and Sherrel Steemer.  Two, brothers, George Steemer and Jimmie Ray Steemer. One brother-in-law, Charles Wright. And a host of nieces, nephews, and close friend Michael Polk.
