DOMINGO OLMOS, SR.

Domingo Olmos Sr. of Waelder, TX passed away Saturday August 6th, 2022. He was born September 13th, 1936 in Gonzales, TX to Catarino Olmos and Petra Guajardo Olmos. 

Domingo Olmos Sr. Was a devoted Catholic. He attended Catholic School in Moulton, TX and instilled the Catholic life in his children. He was a hard worker his entire life. At a young age he worked in the cotton fields. He also hauled hay for various surrounding ranches. Later in life he became a business owner for over 20 years before becoming a truck driver. Domingo was a member of the Waelder School Board for many years and was also a member of the Lions Club. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and coaching baseball. His all time favorite was watching his New York Yankees. 

He is survived by his wife Cristina Olmos. His children, Catherine Hernandez, her spouse Arturo Hernandez, Florentino Olmos, his spouse Jackie, Margie Benitez, her spouse Armando Benitez, Diana Olmos, Domingo Olmos Jr., Christopher Olmos, Crystal Olmos. His Grandchildren, Catrina Hernandez, Monique Muras, Valentino Hernandez, Alexandria Benitez, Katie Benitez, James Olmos, and Charlie Manzano and 12 great grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Frank (Kiko), Moya, Jesse, Joe, David, Tony, and Steve Olmos, his sister Jaine Olmos Salazar, his grandson Mario Hernandez and first wife Toribia “Toby” Olmos.

The family will receive friends at Waelder St. Patrick Catholic Church on Tuesday August the 9th, viewing from 5-7 p.m., rosary to begin at 7:00p.m. Funeral Services to be held Wednesday August the 10th at 10a.m. At Waelder St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Waelder Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Valentino Hernandez, Mauricio Contreras, James Olmos, Christopher Olmos, Alfredo Manzano Jr., Miguel Loredo. Honorary Pallbearers: Rocky Quintero Sr., Poncho Martinez Sr., Felix Ramirez, Danny Rincon, Max Childers, Joe Rincon, Paul Quintero, Roy Tovar, Jackie Eaton, Bobby Eaton, Ralph Eureste, Ray Eureste, Aldofo Long Jr. Valentine Barrientes.
